Dr. Chan Chak Sun, Jason (BSc BVSc)

According to his mom, Dr Jason has always had an affinity with animals and has wanted to be a vet since a young age. Even after being bitten, scratched and attacked countless times (albeit mostly because of his own carelessness), it did not deter him from pursuing his dream. After high school in Hong Kong, he continued his education in the University of California, Davis (United States) where he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science with a focus in animal behaviour. Never could he have predicted that his next step was to move to New Zealand, where he graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science in 2010. Having been away from Hong Kong for nearly a decade, he jumped on the next flight back home and has been practicing in various clinics around the city.

In his free time, you might find Dr Jason at the gym or playing soccer - or more likely than not, trying out new restaurants around town. He also has a goofball of a Golden Retriever named Cymba that he likes to spend time with.

Dr Jason is extremely excited to be part of HKIVC and is looking forward to building relationships with the community both near and far.

Dr YUE MAN YAN, Ivy (BVSC MRCVS)

Dr Ivy Man Yan Yue was born and raised in Hong Kong. After attaining her first bachelor degree with honors in Chinese Medicine from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2005, she went on to pursue her childhood dream in Australia. She earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree from the University of Sydney in 2009 and has since worked at various small animal clinics in Hong Kong.

During this period, she discovered the benefits of combining both conventional and Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating animals. In order to provide optimal care for her patients, she has taken up various post graduate courses and has received certifications (by examinations) in the following areas: Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist via the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 2013, Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist via the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine in 2019, and Certified Veterinary Food Therapist via the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine in 2019. She is currently working towards a Master degree in Veterinary Chinese Medicine.  Apart from offering integrative therapies to her clients, she also has a special interest in feline medicine and geriatric medicine.

In her free time, she loves travelling and trying out different coffee shops all over town. She shares her home with a husband, two kids, and three fluffy cats.

Ivy is excited to join the HKIVC family and she’s looking forward to meeting you all.

Dr Wyborn Wai Bong Lau (BVSC MRCVS)
MANZCVS (Feline MediciNe)

Dr Wyborn was born and raised in Hong Kong. Being brought up with cats, or as he likes to put it, “being owned by cats”, since a young age, he developed a deep interest in all that is feline. After pursuing and graduating with a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Queensland in 2008, he completed a 2-year internship program at The Cat Clinic in Brisbane, Australia. He furthered his interest by attaining Membership with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Feline Medicine.

Although he may have a slight preference for the feline patient, he has extensive experience in general practice and emergency care having worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia for a number of years before coming back to Hong Kong and joining the team at Hong Kong Island Veterinary Clinic.

He has 2 cats named Zero a tuxedo boy and Rosie an Egyptian mau.

Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his family and enjoying good food and wine.
